Learn more about skin rejuvenation treatments from your vein specialist in St. Louis.skin rejuvenation

Want flawless skin? Skin rejuvenation treatments are the secret to perfect, blemish-free skin and can help improve the look and feel of your skin. These treatments are less invasive than surgery. Dr. Norman Bein at Vein Specialties in St. Louis, MO, offers skin rejuvenation treatments to his patients. Read on to learn about five of the most popular skin rejuvenation treatments available.

1. Spider Vein Removal

The CUTERA Coolglide Xeo laser system removes unwanted, unsightly spider veins on many areas of the body. A laser handpiece is passed over your skin and the laser light is absorbed by the blood, causing the blood vessels to coagulate and be absorbed by the body. CUTERA Coolglide laser treatment is a safe, fast, and effective method for removal of spider veins. There is little downtime; however, you will need to protect the areas treated from sun exposure.

2. Sunspot Removal

If you want to watch your sun spots disappear, consider laser therapy. Sun spots, those brown spots and patches that appear on your skin after years of fun in the sun, can be effectively removed with The Astanza Trinity laser device. It is also used to treat freckles, moles, and age spots. No recovery time is necessary, but treatments are typically scheduled several apart to allow time for your skin to heal.

3. IPL Laser Therapy

Intense pulsed light, or IPL, is a treatment that uses light to treat skin problems and rejuvenate the complexion. During the treatment, light pulses are directed over the skin. The light penetrates deep into the dermis where the light energy stimulates cells to produce collagen. Over several treatments, this new collagen softens and smooths the appearance of pores, fine lines, and textural problems. It also treats age spots, freckles, sun damage, rosacea, and spider veins.

4. Microdermabrasion

Everyone seems to be talking about microdermabrasion. More than a million people will get it done this year. Microdermabrasion treats sun damage, fine lines, stretch marks, light scarring, discoloration, or clogged pores. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that uses an instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the superficial layer of dead skin cells. When you remove the outer layer of skin, the body interprets it as an injury. The lost skin cells are then replaced by newer, healthier ones.

5. Laser Genesis

Want to look younger? Laser Genesis is a cutting-edge skin treatment that make it easier to turn back the clock. Laser Genesis treatments treat wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, sun damage, and large pores; all while improving the skin's texture and tone. It works by gently heating the skin, stimulating collagen growth and shrinking swollen capillaries. The treatment is easy, fast, and extremely effective with no downtime.

Thinking about getting rid of your tattoo? Find out how we could help you.tattoo removal

While tattoos can be a great self-expression for many, there are other people who regret their decision to get a tattoo. Sometimes they just simply grew out of the design or they don’t think the tattoo represents them anymore. If this sounds like you then you may be wondering how our St. Louis, MO, vein specialist, Dr. Norman Bein, may be able to help you eliminate your unwanted body art.

Our St. Louis surgeon isn’t new to tattoo removal. In fact, we’ve been helping countless patients remove their tattoos for about nine years. Of course, we are always looking for faster, easier and painless laser tattoo removal options for our patients. This is why we are proud to offer the Cutera laser, which provides fast and effective tattoo removal results.

In the past it was often hard or nearly impossible to remove pigmented tattoos. Perhaps you’ve talked to other specialists in the past about having your tattoo removed through laser therapy but found out that it wouldn’t be as effective with colored ink as it would with black ink.

This can be a rather frustrating discovery, but thanks to our Cutera laser, we are now able to tackle a variety of tattoos of all different colors. Since different ink colors create different sized particles under the skin we need a laser system that will create different wavelengths for which to remove as many of these different sized molecules as possible. This is exactly how the Cutera laser works.

You’ve probably also heard that not all laser treatments work as well with different skin types. This is also not an issue with the Cutera system. We can treat all skin types safely and effectively to get rid of your unwanted tattoo easily.

Plus, this powerful system ensures that you don’t have to come in for as many treatment sessions as you would with other laser tattoo removal systems. Being able to provide the treatment our patients want more efficiently is what we are all about. Removing a tattoo shouldn’t be difficult. Cutera makes it simple.

If you want to learn more about Clean Slate Tattoo Removal in St. Louis, MO, and whether it’s the right way to remove your tattoo then give Vein Specialties a call today at (314) 993-8233 to schedule an appointment.

Would you like to get rid of your unattractive spider veins? Dr. Norman Bein, a general, vascular and thoracic surgeon at Vein Specialties spider veinsin St. Louis, MO, shares some information about the veins and discusses spider vein treatment options.

Why do I have spider veins?

Spider veins can develop due to a variety of reasons, including:

  • Injuries
  • Hormone level changes
  • Exposure to the sun
  • Standing for hours every day
  • Aging
  • A family history of the veins

Spider veins develop when increased pressure in the veins cause them to dilate or widen. When that happens, the blue or red veins will be very noticeable just under your skin.

What can I do about spider veins?

Spider veins aren't usually harmful to your health but they can be unsightly. If you want to get rid of your spider veins before summer weather hits the St. Louis area, now is the time to consider treatment options.

Sclerotherapy, a popular treatment option, is every effective in eliminating the veins. During sclerotherapy, sodium tetradecyl sulphate is injected into your spider veins. The treatment gets rid of the veins by causing scarring that prevents blood from flowing through them. The blood that would normally travel through the spider veins is rerouted to nearby veins.

It usually takes three or more treatments to treat a spider vein, but once the vein stops carrying blood, it will no longer be noticeable. Sclerotherapy treatment usually isn't painful, although you might notice a little itching or swelling afterward. If the spider veins are in your leg, wearing compression stockings for 72 hours improves the effectiveness of the treatment because it prevents the sodium solution from flowing out of your veins.

Laser treatment is also a good option for spider veins, particularly those that form in the face. During laser therapy, a beam of light is aimed at your veins, damaging the walls. You may feel a little stinging or warming sensation when the laser penetrates your skin, but your skin will be cooled before and after treatment to minimize discomfort. After treatment, mild bruising, itching and swelling may occur.

Don't let spider veins detract from your appearance. Call Dr. Bein at Vein Specialties in St. Louis, MO, at (314) 993-8233 to schedule an appointment to discuss spider vein treatment options.
